Summer in Stardust & Prints !

Summer 2015 is your time to shine in prints and layered jewels. It’s time to get a little more experimental and edgy with styling of both your clothes and jewelry. I went in for a Mix & Match theme for today’s styling, mixing and matching different prints and jewelry too. It’s time to break out of the fashion cliches and make bolder style choices this summer.
For my outfit I went for the Print on Print look, pairing a tropical print crop top with a floral print flare midi skirt, apart from the contrasting prints, the colours too contrasted each other with the crop top being primarily red and the skirt having a deep blue base tone. Print on Print is a great way to have fun with fashion this summer. But remember even when breaking basic fashion rules, try keeping a similar colour tone through both the prints, like here I had a touch of red and blue in both prints, it balances out the whole clashing of prints. To balance out the vibrant hues & prints, I added a metallic element to my look with silver metallic pumps paired with a silver tassel clutch.
I accessorized the look with some beautiful jewelry from Swarovski’s Spring Summer Collection 2015. The theme of Swarovski’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection is the Crystal Garden, which showcases absolutely stunning pieces in soft pastel shades to more vibrant jeweled tones. It is fitting that Swarovski chose the Crystal Garden theme, as the brand is famous for drawing on inspiration from nature with its array of plant and animal figurines.
Speaking about the new collection – “The incredibly rich colour palette of crystals evokes a spring garden in bloom. A bouquet of exuberant shades: rose, bluebell, lavendar, fuschia, sweet pea..” – Nathalie Colin, Creative Director, Swarovski
Even with the Swarovski jewelry, I mixed and matched pieces from their latest collection with a modern spin, to add a new flair to my look.
For my necklaces I layered two bold necklaces – The trendy
Stardust Knot Necklace in dark blue with the more opulent floral Cardinal Necklace in pretty jewel tones. The contrasting shapes and colors of both the necklaces make for some really interesting & bold layering. I wore the Stardust Knot Necklace like a choker and layered it with the slightly longer Cardinal Necklace. The Stardust Necklace can also be worn as part of a casual ensemble, whereas the Cardinal Necklace is like an opulent bouquet of colourful flowers that embodies the spirit of the Crystal Garden to perfection, it is a must have to jazz up any summer outfit. The jewel tones of the necklaces are an extension of the print I’m wearing, in similar hues as the print of the crop top and midi skirt.
The ‘stacked wrist‘ is one of my personal favourite accessorising trends, so for my wrists I stacked up with a combination of the double Stardust Bracelets in shades of light blue and dark blue, that I wore knotted up, separated with a Slake bracelet in burgundy. These Stardust & Slake bracelets are a must have in your accessory collection and make some real cool arm candy when stacked together in multi-hues.
For the rings I again combined two contrasting shapes and hues – a floral statement ring in jewel tones The Cardinal Ring with a set of 3 delicate rings in pastel hues – The Christie Ring . I love the way in which today you can wear a opulent cocktail ring on one finger and offset it with a set of delicate rings.
For the earrings I kept it simple, wearing these pretty dark blue Swarovski crystal drop earrings.
The whole shoot set up felt like I was lost in my own secret garden, posing pretty in prints & stunning jewels, amidst nature, surrounded by lush greenery, flowers and sunshine.
